Erik Wedin, 1987 BOHS grad and 1991 USC grad, appeared on the LIVE with Kelly and Michael show on April 15. Why? You ask? He was on the show introducing a special robot named ASIMO. Eric, is the Corporate Community Relations Manager for Honda and is the project manager for the world's most advanced humanoid.

Erik traveled to New York to unveil ASIMO as part of its North American debut. ASIMO, which stands for Advanced Step in Innovative Mobility, was first introduced 14 years ago, but since then Honda engineers have made major advancements. ASIMO can now run and hop on one leg, and move his hands 13 degrees, enabling him to perform many intricate tasks.

Erik and ASIMO demonstrated all of these advances on the popular national television show. The 4'3", 110-pound robot showed Kelly and Michael how he can communicate in sign language in both Japanese and English, and he jumped up and down and shared some dance moves. ASIMO is a truly an amazing example of advanced technology of what's to come. You can see this new version of ASIMO firsthand this summer as he becomes a daily performer at the Honda ASIMO Theatre at Innoventions in Disneyland's Tomorrowland.
