Who put the tree buckets at the high school? I asked president of the school board Bill Hall about the new trees in front of the high school gym. He said,“The trees are the result of a donation from Dwight Manley. Dwight asked about the trees that used to be there and wondered if the district had plans to replace them at some point. I shared with Dwight that the District’s resources where pretty thin due to the cost we’ve incurred having to deal with the March earthquake and the damage to Fanning Elementary, the BOHS PAC and the BOHS Cafeteria. It’s hard to replace trees when you’ve had to re-direct $6 to $7 million from your budget for the mitigation of asbestos and unplanned repairs to your schools. Dwight felt strongly that the area around the BOHS Gym should project a welcoming feel and the pride we have in our High School.

Dwight generously offered to contribute the money to complete the landscaping. The total cost was over $10,000. The trees were planted over Christmas break.
