BOHS Wildcat Newspaper Wins, Again

The Orange County  Journalism awards were held this past Tuesday, May 22 at Fullerton College.  For two consecutive years, Brea Olinda High School Alex Koers, School Newspaper Advisor/English Teacher, and his very talented wildcat newspaper staff,  won "Best Overall Newspaper."

Awards were also presented to:

  • Paul Lee ("Reporter of the Year", and his April 5 cover story on the contract ratification placed 1st in the county for outstanding News writing)
  • Kellie  Galentine (4th place for Opinion writing)
  • Matt  Schade (1st place in Sports writing...for the third year in a row)
  • Nathan Yoo (2nd place for Feature writing)
  • Noelle  Gracia (3rd place for Feature writing)
  • Brandon  Kim (1st and 2nd place for Sports photography, 2nd place for News photo, and 2nd for Feature photo)
  • Amorette  Valero (1st place for News photo)
