In honor of Memorial Day, Memory Gardens Memorial Park and Mortuary in Brea has been honoring veterans with an annual ceremony since 1958.  The memorial service is presented by Brea's Veteran Club.  According to Denise Guerin, Arranger at Memory Gardens, they started with six flags. This Sunday they will have 1,284 flags of honor.  At 7:00 a.m. on Memorial Day, Monday, May 28, the public is invited to attend as local volunteers from the Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, veterans and their families, and churches join forces to put up the flags of respect. The ceremony will begin at 1:00 p.m. and last until approximately 2:00 p.m. The memorial observance will include the induction of 17 flags of honor.  Then at 3:00 p.m. everyone is invited to assist in taking down the flags.

Memory Gardens is located at 455 West Central Avenue.  For further information, please call (714) 529-3961.
