Fanning School Closed (photo by Orange County Register)

I am a mom and the PTA VP over at Fanning Elementary. I am trying to get the word out to the Brea Community about the school board meeting this coming Monday, Oct. 13, in the council chambers at city hall (by the Brea library). No work has been done over at Fanning and we are worried that no work may ever be done.

At this point I am fearing the worst and suspecting that in the 2015/2016 school year our school will not reopen, we will have lots of boundary changes, and our students will be displaced to other schools. This will overcrowd all the other schools. Can you please pass on the word to the parents in our community, that this school board meeting should be attended by all who can attend? This will definitely be affecting most of the Brea community if the school board doesn't get moving on some plans. Thank you for getting the word out.

Fanning School Update: According to Tina Beck, the school board voted in favor of a bid from Erickson-Hall Construction. “There were about 125-150 people. Standing room only. Amazing turnout! We can't wait to see workers at Fanning. They have a 6 month time frame to complete all work at Fanning,” said Tina.
