Sad note: Former Mayor John Sutton died June 13. He served the city of Brea for over 30 years as a City Planning Commissioner, City Councilman, Mayor, and elected City Treasurer. The USC grad was president of the Boys & Girls Club La Habra-Brea chapter, a member of the Masonic Lodge, and served as an elder at the La Habra Hills Prebysterian Church.

Participants in the service at La Habra Hills Presbyterian Church noted John never spoke ill of anyone. He was quiet, but when he spoke John had something to say.

John truly made a difference. You will never meet a sweeter man. He will be so missed especially by his wife Betty of 62 years.
