Can you believe the 11th Lazy Dog is now open at 240 S. State College? It took them only 120 days to completely tear down La Vie En Rose and put up the new restaurant according to manager Lorena Lopez.  They have been trying to find a location in Brea for three years. 4,000 people applied for a job at the new eatery and 200 were selected.
The restaurant chain held two pre-opening events and proceeds  are donated to the Brea Education Foundation. “They seem to be really focused on family, service and the community.  I like that in a restaurant!  Brea guest Laura Lyng noted at the pre-opening.
Columnist Terri Daxon said, “We all thought it was great. I was surprised at the large, diversified menu--I thought it was mainly a hamburger place. I like the decor--warm and inviting...good place for sports fans to watch games over a beer or wine...loved the dog bone after dinner mint.” Another Brea guest Leslie Hanstad loved the rustic look..warm and inviting. Debbie Moore loved the food and the attention to detail. The door handle is a dog bone.
Dogs are confined to the porch in an outside area. They must be kept on a leash and may not sit in the customer’s lap. They have a menu selection, too.
The food is to die for..huge menu..I had red brick pizza and the next night take out chicken piccata with a tangy caper butter cobbler is yummy, too.  11 items on the menu are 650 calories and under. The cook Gabe Caliendo said he cooks everything from scratch.
Lazy Dog Cafe is going to be a big hit in Brea!
