FBF: Back in August 2012, Katie Gerberding was our BBON ‘All Things Brea’ Amateur Photo Contest winner! Diagnosed with Leukemia in 2007, seven years later Katie remains cancer-free! And is actively involved with Relay for Life, raising much-needed funds and Cancer awareness, alongside her mom Christina. They both would like to invite you to upcoming events that help the American Cancer Society raise money:

The Brea Relay for Life, benefitting the American Cancer Society is a 24 hour event that raises funds and awareness for those battling cancer. Katie and I are very involved in the Relay For Life, It was one on the many organizations that helped our family when Katie was diagnosed with Leukemia in 2007, at the age of 5. Our Relay takes place Saturday June 28th at Brea Olinda High School at 10AM, its a 24 hour event.

Part of being a relay participant, and for Katie being a cancer survivor, we fundraise. My daughter Katie has organized a Skate Night Fundraiser this Saturday June 7th at Holiday Skate in Orange, from 7-9:30 PM. Its a going to be a great event, the cost for skating is $7.50 plus skate rental. If you have your own skates, you will save a few bucks. And yes, you can use in-line skates to : )

For every person that mentions at the door, that they are there for the Cancer Society, we will get back $3 per person!! So please, help us pack this place!! And please share this post.
