  • An Outpour of Love for BOHS Choir Director Dave Willert

Successful Author and BOHS Choir Director Dave Willert suffered from a mini-stroke last week. He is expected to make a full recovery within the next few weeks through a stroke rehabilitation plan.

Dave Willert is a family man who also places great emphasis on those friendships he has developed over the years. So, it’s no wonder, there has been an outpour of support from his choir family and the community to help his family during this challenging time and also financially, as a benefit concert to honor Dave is planned on Saturday, June 2nd and Sunday, June 3rd at 7:00 p.m.

Dave is a person with great passion and enthusiasm for what he does. He values team work, and does not give his students strict boundaries. He sets a goal and lets them figure out ways to achieve their goals. According to Dave, “Remember the old saying, you can lead a horse to water, but you can't make him drink? So true. If the student buys in to what we are doing, they will pursue their challenges with all of the enthusiasm and thinking ability they have available. That is what I want from my students.”

“It takes a team, he says, and that is why we have been so successful over the past 35 years, with no end in sight!” We wish Dave a speedy successful recovery.
